The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB), Plateau State Chapter, has been conferred with the prestigious Corporate Ethics and Integrity Compliance Award.
The honor was bestowed by the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO), a leading anti-corruption and ethics advocacy organization based in Lokoja, Kogi State.
The award follows a rigorous independent assessment. The Plateau State Chapter ranked second nationally among the top ten performing chapters, and clinched the first position in the North Central zone with a cumulative score of 79%.
The accolade recognizes the Chapter’s outstanding commitment to transparency, professional integrity, fiscal discipline, due process, and ethical leadership in the construction sector.
Under its current administration, the chapter has pioneered several landmark initiatives. It became the first NIOB chapter to launch a functional official website and independent chapter by-laws.
Additionally, the chapter has commenced its state secretariat building project, launched aggressive capacity-building programs, and maintained strict advocacy for the Nigerian Building Code to fight quackery and building collapse.
The award ceremony featured powerful citations and acceptance speeches highlighting the critical need for integrity in Nigeria’s construction industry.

In presenting the Corporate Certificate of Credence, the CESVO delegation led by Prince Salih Musa Yakubu, read a glowing citation honoring the chapter’s milestones:
“In recognition of your outstanding performance in upholding transparency, professional ethics, regulatory compliance, and exemplary leadership in the building and construction sector. The NIOB Plateau State Chapter has demonstrated unwavering commitment to integrity, making it a model professional body worthy of emulation across Nigeria.”

Accepting the honor, the Chairman of the NIOB Plateau State Chapter, Bldr. Grace Pam Wang, MNIOB, expressed deep gratitude stating that “We are deeply honoured by this recognition from CESVO. This award further validates our commitment to ethical practices and professional excellence”.
She added that “The Plateau State Chapter remains dedicated to raising the bar in the construction industry and will continue to promote integrity, transparency, and best practices among our members.”

The event also celebrated individual leadership. Bldr. Grace Pam Wang was personally presented with an Ethical Conduct Compliance Certificate and decorated with the lifetime honor of Integrity Icon of Nigeria (IION).

Furthermore, the esteemed Executive Committee (EXCO) members and the Immediate Past Chairman, Bldr. Adedeji Adeleye, FNIOB, were presented with Letters of Commendation for their outstanding ethics compliance and quality service delivery.
