As Nigeria celebrate its 64th Independence Day, Hon. Dr. Ishaya David Lalu, Member Representing Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency, has shared an optimistic message with his constituents and the country. Reflecting on the nation’s journey since gaining independence in 1960, Hon. Lalu acknowledged the challenges faced over the past six decades but expressed hope for a brighter future under the current government.
“We have had our challenges in the past 63 years, but looking at the present government, especially what they have started in the 2024 budget, I have seen a new dawn in the Nigerian government in the areas of security and the welfare of the citizens,” Hon. Lalu stated. He highlighted the significance of the 2024 budget, noting that for the first time in Nigeria’s democratic history since 1999, capital expenditure will exceed recurrent expenditure. According to him, this shift signals a commitment to infrastructure development and economic growth.
“This gives us hope that there will be abundant infrastructure, there will be an increase in per capita income, and the economy of Nigeria will stabilize,” Hon. Lalu explained, emphasizing that these changes could lay the groundwork for long-term prosperity.
In his message to his constituents, Hon. Lalu wished them a happy 64th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence, expressing hope that the nation’s progress would continue to benefit every citizen. “I wish my dear constituents and the entire nation a wonderful 64th anniversary of democracy in Nigeria,” he concluded.
As Nigeria reaches this historic milestone, Hon. Lalu’s message underscores the importance of resilience and optimism as the country navigates its challenges and continues to work toward a better future for all.
