To aid local farmers in improving their crop growth and increasing their yields, former Deputy of the 10th Plateau Assembly, Rt. Hon. Gwottson Dalyop Fom has generously distributed over 1,000 bags of 25kg golden fertilizer throughout the 67 hamlets of Kuru District, his hometown. This initiative displays his strong commitment to supporting the agricultural sector and uplifting the lives of farmers in the community.
Recall that for over decade Gwottson has established a tradition of massively doling out thousands of Chickens, wrappers and cash to the less privileged at his Poultry Farm known as Goshen Farms located in Kuru.
Speaking at distribution ground, GSS Kanadap, Kuru, Gwottson had reflected on his childhood which he said inspires him be do the philanthropic works he’s been doing for over a decade now.
In his words “My people, who are predominantly farmers, are struggling to buy fertilizer. I’m no longer in office today, but I know how hard the times are. God has been gracious and merciful to me and I dim it fit to do the same for others. I know exactly how it feels to be desperately needy. This is my major motivation for all the philanthropic work I have done all these years. As for this fertilizer, we have set in place an all-inclusive sharing formula void of any bias whatsoever”.
A symbolic presentation of the fertilizer to traditional leaders and hamlet representatives was performed by Hon. Peter Vwang Dung, the TIC Chairman of Jos South LGA, who hailed Gwottson as a remarkable leader who is sensitive to the needs of the masses and applauded him for his contributions to the community.
Additionally, Rt. Hon Moses Sule, former Speaker of the PLHA, praised Gwottson’s remarkable contributions during their stay in office and commended him for allowing himself to be used by God as a positive instrument of change. He urged the populace to use the fertilizer for its intended purpose and emphasized the value of having a son like Gwottson in the Kuru District.
Hon. Ishaku Maren, the former Majority Leader of the 10th Assembly, described Rt. Hon. Fom Gwottson as an outstanding leader. According to him, many people have benefited from the God-given leadership qualities of Rt. Hon. Gwottson. This he said is evident as 11 out of 16 displaced members of the Assembly attended the program, despite being informed only yesterday.
The acting Gbong Gwom Kuru, Dagwom Kushe – Da Pius Jugu, who spoke on behalf of the Kuru traditional council, maintained that Hon. Gwottson has been known for his philanthropic gestures spanning over a decade in Kuru community and beyond. He eulogized and branded him a son in whom Kuru is well pleased. He noted that the fertilizer would greatly improve their harvests and ultimately their livelihood, considering the times. He added that the support came at the right time, as they have been grappling with the high cost of fertilizer with low yields.
Another beneficiary, Sele Tong, had this to say, “To the best of my knowledge this is the 11th year of unceasing massive interventions in the land of kuru and beyond from our father and son, Hon. Gwottson. For this particular fertilizer we count lucky because the Mutfuwang administration had earlier provided subsidized elect fertilizer for us and our son has also step in with 1,000 bags of fertilizer. Were so grateful and we pray that God will bless him abundantly”.
Notable figures present at the occasion include; Da Prof. Pam & Ngo Chundung Sha, leaders of the 67 hamlets; PDP excos, stakeholders and supporters.
