Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has charged newly appointed Special Advisers and Honorary Special Advisers to demonstrate integrity, professionalism and commitment to delivering tangible results for the people.

The governor gave the charge on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, during the swearing-in ceremony at Victoria Gowon Hall, New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.

Mutfwang said the appointments were intended to strengthen governance, improve policy implementation and bring additional expertise into government.

“From the outset, our administration has been guided by a clear conviction: the mandate freely entrusted to us by the people of Plateau State is not a privilege to be enjoyed, but a solemn responsibility to be discharged with integrity, humility, sincerity and measurable results,” he said.

He urged the appointees to provide sound policy advice, identify practical solutions to emerging challenges and ensure government decisions translate into improvements in people’s lives.

“Your recommendations must be timely, evidence-based and guided by the overriding interest of Plateau State,” the governor said.

Mutfwang also cautioned against personal interests and unnecessary rivalries, urging the appointees to work together and remain focused on the administration’s development agenda.

“Our administration needs people who can offer honest advice, identify workable solutions and remain focused on the collective interest of the state,” he said.

The governor reaffirmed that peace and security remained priorities, citing the reinvigoration of Operation Rainbow, strengthened community-based security efforts and the training of approximately 1,500 personnel.

He also highlighted investments in healthcare, education, agriculture, energy, water supply, sanitation, transportation and road infrastructure, particularly in rural and underserved communities.

Mutfwang expressed concern over the fresh attack in Gyero village, Jos South Local Government Area, urging residents to provide security agencies with timely and credible information to help prevent further attacks.

He called on the appointees to remain accessible to citizens, particularly women, young people, farmers, entrepreneurs and vulnerable groups, while supporting efforts to rebuild affected communities and strengthen peace.

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission, Rt. Hon. Titus Alams, thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in them and pledged their commitment to serving the state.

“Your Excellency, thank you for believing in us,” Alams said, adding that the appointees recognised the importance of their contributions to the administration’s legacy.
