On Friday, the Plateau State Governorship Elections Petitions Tribunal will rule on the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress and Dr. Nentawe Yiltwatda, the party’s governorship candidate in the March 18 election, contesting the victory of Governor Caleb Mutfwang, the PDP candidate.

The judgement date was verified by Barrister Sunday Odey, a member of PDP’s legal team, to The PUNCH in Jos on Wednesday.

Yes, it is true, Odey responded. The governorship tribunal’s decision in the PDP v. APC lawsuit has been scheduled for Friday, September 22, 2023.

After receiving 525,299 votes, the Independent National Electoral Commission Mutfwang proclaimed Yiltwatda the loser, while Mutfwang received 481,370 votes.

The tribunal previously dismissed the petition Alfred Dabwan, a candidate for governor from the New Nigeria People’s Party, filed against Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

Dabwan had filed a petition with the tribunal asking for the annulment of the election because INEC had allegedly failed to include his party’s emblem on the ballot.
