The 2026 Plateau Trade Fair is showcasing investment opportunities in agriculture, livestock and industry as the state government seeks to promote business growth and economic development.

The fair brings together exhibitors, entrepreneurs and organisations to showcase products, build partnerships and explore new markets.

The Plateau State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, urged residents and investors to take advantage of the event to expand their businesses.

He said the fair highlights opportunities in agriculture and livestock, particularly in production, processing and marketing.

Ashoms cited the government’s ultra-modern abattoir project around Heipang as an initiative expected to create opportunities across the livestock value chain.

“Plateau is open to business, Plateau is business minded, there is a governor that is ready to help Plateau businesses boom,” he said.

Addressing security concerns, the commissioner maintained that Plateau remained open to business and urged visitors not to be discouraged by negative reports.

He thanked exhibitors from across Nigeria for participating in the fair and exploring business opportunities in the state.

Meanwhile, organisations including PLASCHEMA, PLASMIDA and ANISTA have installed their pavilions to showcase their activities, products and services.

The trade fair provides a platform for businesses and visitors to connect, exchange ideas and explore investment prospects.

Its focus on agriculture and livestock also highlights opportunities for private-sector participation in developing the state’s economy.

The Plateau State Government has extended the fair by two days following logistical challenges. Ashoms said the extension would give exhibitors and visitors more time to benefit from the event.
