The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has charged members of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council’s Infrastructure, Mobilisation and Sensitisation Directorate to document Federal Government projects nationwide.

Umahi gave the directive on Thursday in Abuja while inaugurating members of the directorate.
He urged the team to strengthen public awareness of infrastructure investments under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope administration.
“The team’s primary responsibility is to identify, document, compile, and publicise infrastructure projects the Federal Government is executing across Ministries, extra-ministerial Departments, and Agencies,” he said.
Umahi explained that the assignment would cover projects beyond the Federal Ministry of Works to provide a comprehensive account of infrastructure development across the six geopolitical zones.
He directed the Senior Special Assistants to the President on Community Engagement, appointed as zonal coordinators, and other members to collaborate in identifying projects within their respective zones.
The minister said the initiative would complement existing publicity efforts by the ministry and other government agencies.
He added that effective documentation and communication were necessary to make information on infrastructure projects accessible to Nigerians.
“Infrastructure investment stimulates economic activities, connects communities, creates opportunities and supports the growth of other sectors of the economy,” Umahi said.
He also highlighted the Federal Government’s continuous reinforced concrete pavement technology, saying it would reduce dependence on imported bitumen and promote local resources and expertise.
According to him, the technology would support local economic activities, reduce foreign exchange demand for imported road construction materials and encourage durable infrastructure delivery.
Umahi urged members to demonstrate diligence, professionalism and responsibility in carrying out their assignments.
He said the inauguration marked a step towards improving coordination, infrastructure communication, mobilisation and public sensitisation within the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council.
