Residents of three local government areas in Plateau State will benefit from a free breast and cervical cancer screening programme organised by the Isaac Kyale Kwallu Foundation, IKK Foundation, from October 19 to 27.
The initiative will cover Shendam, Mikang and Qua’an-Pan, combining cancer awareness and sensitisation with free screening services at designated healthcare facilities.
The outreach is aimed at promoting early detection and encouraging residents to seek medical attention when they notice possible warning signs of cancer.
In Shendam, screening will take place at May Hospital, Yelwa Road, on October 19 and 20, and Haske Hospital, Anguwan Murtala, Yelwa Nshar, on October 21 and 22.
Residents of Mikang can access the services at Vera Clinic, Tunkus, on October 23 and 24.
In Qua’an-Pan, the programme will hold at NA Allah Clinic, Fujing, Kwang, on October 25, before moving to Our Lady of Fatima Ola Hospital, Namu, on October 26 and 27.
Beyond screening, the programme will provide opportunities for participants to learn about cancer risk factors, recognise warning signs and understand the importance of early medical attention.
The foundation has urged residents across the three local government areas to visit the designated facilities on the scheduled dates to benefit from the exercise.
The initiative reflects the foundation’s community-focused mission under its motto, “Empowering Lives, Building Communities,” with an emphasis on health awareness and access to screening services.
