Senator Diket Satso Plang, representing Plateau Central Senatorial District, has called for unity, prayers, and peaceful coexistence among citizens as he distributed a total of 2,229 bags of food items to constituents to support Muslim faithful observing the Ramadan fast.

The items distributed included bags of rice, maize, and guinea corn, aimed at assisting families during the holy month while also demonstrating solidarity with the Muslim community across the senatorial district. The senator said the gesture was intended to encourage togetherness and support for those observing the sacred period of fasting and prayer.

Speaking during the distribution with party leaders and community representatives in Jos, the senator described the fasting period as a sacred moment for reflection, prayer, and spiritual renewal. He noted that the gesture was meant to demonstrate solidarity with the Muslim community during the holy month.

“We are providing these little food items not because our brothers cannot feed themselves, but as a sign that we are together. It is a demonstration of unity and brotherhood,” he said.

The lawmaker emphasized that the prayers offered during the fasting period should extend beyond personal needs to include peace, security, and prosperity for Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole.

“Your prayers are not just for yourselves; your prayers are for peace, for good health, for God’s blessings upon our land and for the well-being of all Nigerians,” he stated.

To ensure fairness in the distribution of the Ramadan support materials, Senator Plang said local government party chairmen and secretaries were invited to oversee the process so that the items would reach various communities across Plateau Central.

“Leadership is about sharing and being inclusive. I urge those responsible for distribution to ensure fairness and equity so that everyone is remembered,” he said.

The senator concluded by praying for peace and harmony in Plateau State, expressing hope that the prayers of both Muslims during Ramadan and Christians during the Lenten season would bring lasting stability and unity to the state.

The Chairman of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) Plateau Central Zone, Alhaji Hudu Ibrahim, has expressed gratitude to Diket Satso Plang for his kind gesture in supporting Muslim faithful with food items during the Ramadan fasting period. He said the support has brought joy to the Muslim Ummah and demonstrates the senator’s concern and solidarity with the community.

Alhaji Ibrahim prayed that Almighty God would reward the senator for the gesture and grant him wisdom and protection in his leadership. He also called for continued prayers for peace, unity, and development in Plateau State and Nigeria, noting that peace remains essential for progress and stability.

Also commending the gesture, the APC Chairman of Kanam Local Government Area, Aliyu Shehu Makama, praised Diket Satso Plang for consistently supporting communities across the senatorial district. He noted that the senator has maintained the tradition of reaching out to people, especially during important religious periods such as Ramadan.

Makama said party leaders and coordinators would ensure that the items provided are properly distributed to the intended beneficiaries. He expressed appreciation to the senator for the initiative and prayed for his continued success in leadership and service to the people.
