Nigerian music star Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy of the legendary duo Psquare, has stirred conversations online after boldly stating that he and his twin brother, Peter Okoye, made some of the best and most valuable songs in Africa.

Speaking candidly, Rudeboy said Psquare’s legacy stands the test of time, stressing that many of their songs remain relevant years after their release. According to him, the duo’s music from as far back as 2005, 2008, and 2012 is still widely listened to today and continues to resonate with fans across generations.

“I and my brother sang the best songs in Africa,” Rudeboy stated. He added that his comments were not meant to discredit the current generation of artists but to highlight a noticeable difference in longevity and substance.

The singer argued that about 85 percent of today’s music lacks timeless appeal, noting that many songs fade away within a few months of release. He also raised concerns about lyrical content, saying some modern songs are not suitable for family listening, especially around children.

Rudeboy emphasized that Psquare’s music cut across age groups and cultures, making it both family-friendly and enduring. He expressed confidence that their songs would remain relevant for decades to come, describing them as some of the most valuable musical contributions to Africa.

His remarks have since gone viral on social media, reigniting debates about musical longevity, quality, and Psquare’s place in African music history. Many fans agree with his stance, hailing Psquare as one of the greatest music groups the continent has ever produced.
