The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, has stressed the importance of discipline, dedication and excellence in sustaining the growth and transformation of the Service.
The Comptroller-General stated this on Thursday at a grand valedictory session held at the NIS Headquarters, Abuja, in honour of four senior officers who retired after 35 years of meritorious service.
Represented by the Deputy Comptroller-General, Visa and Residency, FU Nwanneka, Nandap said officers must uphold high standards in the discharge of their duties and remain committed to the values that strengthen the institution and improve service delivery.
“Professionalism remains key to the continued growth and transformation of the Nigeria Immigration Service,” Nandap said.
She urged officers to remain disciplined and dedicated to their responsibilities, saying their conduct directly contributes to the effectiveness of the Service.
“We must uphold the standards and values that have shaped the Service,” she stated.
Nandap also highlighted the importance of institutional continuity, noting that the experience of past officers remained valuable to the organisation.
“Those who served before us have left valuable experience for the Service to build on,” she said.
She encouraged serving officers to draw from the foundation laid by their predecessors while pursuing higher standards in the discharge of their duties.
“We must build on these foundations and remain committed to excellence in service to the nation,” Nandap added.
The Comptroller-General reaffirmed the commitment of the NIS to institutional growth, effective service delivery and continuous development of its personnel.
