As part of activities ushering in the grand finale of the 11th Plateau Man of the Year Awards (PMYA), COA Media have announced the PMYA Excellence in Leadership Roundtable, a high-level engagement aimed at deepening conversations on leadership, legacy, and sustainable excellence.
The roundtable is scheduled to hold on Thursday, 6th February 2026, by 9:00 a.m., at the Crest Hotel & Garden, Jos, Plateau State, just two days ahead of the main PMYA Award and Gala Night.
According to the Converner of the Plateau Man of the Year, Amb. Cletus Akhimien disclosed that the roundtable is being held in honour of the enduring legacy of CP Joseph Dechi Gomwalk, the pioneer Military Governor of the former Benue-Plateau State, whose leadership ideals continue to inspire ethical governance and purposeful public service.
The event will be held under the theme “Foundations of Excellence: Lessons from GOMWALK, Leading for Tomorrow,” drawing inspiration from historic leadership ideals and governance principles that continue to shape national and subnational development.
Amb. Akhimien explained that the roundtable is designed to go beyond celebration by fostering dialogue on character-driven leadership, institutional legacy, and preparing the next generation for responsible leadership.
The PMYA Excellence in Leadership Roundtable forms a key part of activities marking PMYA @ 11, which also coincides with Plateau State’s 50th anniversary, reinforcing the platform’s commitment to honouring excellence while inspiring future leaders.
The main Plateau Man of the Year Awards ceremony will hold on Sunday, 8th February 2026, where outstanding individuals, women, and institutions will be recognised for their contributions to leadership, service, and societal development across Plateau State.
Organisers encouraged stakeholders and the public to participate in the roundtable, describing it as a fitting prelude to the grand finale of Plateau State’s most prestigious celebration of excellence.
