Plateau State has taken a major step toward digital transformation with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Karios Technologies USA on innovation in data centre development.
The agreement reflects the state government’s commitment to using technology as a tool for development, improved governance, and expanded opportunities for citizens, especially young people.
The MoU was signed by the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and the President and Founder of Karios Technologies, Mr. Shree, marking the beginning of a strategic technology partnership.
The collaboration is expected to explore modern data centre infrastructure and advanced computing solutions that will support governance, public service delivery, and economic growth across the state.
“This strategic engagement with Karios, a global technology partner, will explore opportunities for leveraging cutting-edge infrastructure and computing solutions to accelerate development across our State.”
Governor Mutfwang emphasized that technology remains critical to building strong institutions, improving efficiency in government operations, and creating an enabling environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.
“We recognize that sustainable development requires not only policies and programs, but also strategic partnerships that bring global expertise and solutions to local challenges.”
The partnership also focuses on deploying technology responsibly to drive inclusive growth, strengthen public services, and prepare Plateau youths for opportunities in the digital economy.
“The Kairos model builds modern, energy-efficient, and scalable digital solutions that can support key sectors of the economy, enhance data-driven decision-making, and deliver tangible benefits to citizens.”
The Karios team further showcased their infrastructure and edge computing technologies, demonstrating how these solutions can modernize digital systems and support innovation ecosystems within Plateau State.
The Plateau State Government reaffirmed that the MoU aligns with its broader vision of positioning the state as a leader in digital innovation and a competitive, technology-enabled economy in Nigeria.
