The Nigerian Army has officially opened its application portal for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for commission as officers.
The DSSC programme is open to both civilians and serving military personnel who possess relevant professional qualifications. Successful candidates will be commissioned into specialised corps of the Nigerian Army, where their skills and expertise will contribute directly to national defence and security operations.
Available corps under this recruitment exercise include the Nigerian Army Engineers, Nigerian Army Signals, Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and the Nigerian Army Education Corps.
Applications are free of charge and must be completed online. The recruitment portal will be open from January 7 to February 4, 2026. Interested applicants are advised to apply early and ensure that all required information is accurately submitted to avoid disqualification.
