Prominent Islamic cleric, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, has called on Muslims to mobilise their votes and ensure the continued success of the Muslim-Muslim ticket, declaring that such an arrangement was necessary to sustain Muslim dominance in Nigeria.

Jingir made the call while preaching to Muslims in Kano, where he urged his audience to prepare for future elections and demonstrate what he described as the numerical strength of Muslims in the country.

The cleric said, “Here, I urge you to prepare your votes. Let us show the world that the infidels are lying that they outnumber us. Show the infidels their limit.”

Jingir further declared that Nigeria is a Muslim country and warned Christians who do not accept a Muslim-Muslim ticket to leave the country.

“Nigeria is a Muslim country and if you don’t want to accept a Muslim-Muslim ticket, you should leave Nigeria because it belongs to us,” he said.

He linked the Muslim-Muslim ticket to the need to prevent Christians from believing they have a numerical advantage over Muslims in the country.

“If not because of the Muslim-Muslim ticket, the Christians in Nigeria will think they are more than us,” Jingir stated.

The Islamic cleric therefore urged Muslims to ensure that the political arrangement continues to succeed, saying its success would help preserve Muslim dominance.

“This is why we must make sure the Muslim-Muslim ticket continues to succeed so that our dominance will remain sustained,” he said.
