The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged its members, stakeholders and the general public to disregard a viral list circulating on social media claiming to contain the winners of the party’s primary elections, describing it as fake and unauthorized.

In a public notice issued on Saturday, the party said the purported list was not released by its leadership and warned that it was the handiwork of mischief-makers seeking to create confusion and disrupt peace within the party.

The statement, signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Choji Felix Dalyop, Ph.D., said the attention of the party, under the leadership of State Chairman Miskom Raymond Dabo, had been drawn to the undated document being circulated on various online platforms.

“The State Working Committee (SWC) wishes to state categorically and unequivocally that this list is completely fake, fabricated, and the handiwork of mischief-makers aimed at creating confusion and disrupting the peace within our ranks,” the statement read.

The party stressed that it had not released any official list of primary election winners, urging members to treat the circulating document as fake news.

It further stated that all valid results, updates and declarations would only be communicated through the office of the State Publicity Secretary.

The PDP also reaffirmed its commitment to constitutional procedures and democratic processes, urging supporters to remain calm, united and loyal to the party’s leadership as it prepares for future elections.

“We urge our teeming supporters to remain steadfast, calm, and completely loyal to the official leadership as we continue to position the party for absolute victory,” the statement added.
