The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has inaugurated its Campaign Council in Jos, Plateau State, with over 5,000 members drawn from across the state as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The ceremony brought together state party executives, coordinators from the 17 local government areas and candidates seeking elective positions under the party.

The council is expected to coordinate campaign activities and mobilise support for the party’s presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, and its Plateau State governorship candidate, Samuel Danauta Kyarshik.

Speaking at the event, the Director of the APM Presidential Campaign Organisation in Plateau State, Hon. Engr. Emmanuel Wokrit Goladi, said the campaign had grown from a small team into a movement with over 5,000 members, expressing confidence in the party’s grassroots structure.

He described Makinde, the Oyo State governor, as a candidate with the competence to promote unity and national healing. He urged campaign coordinators to take the party’s message to communities across the 17 local government areas and work towards victory for all APM candidates.

Goladi also announced that Makinde was expected to visit Plateau State on Sunday for engagements with stakeholders, particularly ordinary citizens, ahead of the party’s final rally scheduled for Monday in Jos.

The governorship candidate, Kyarshik, pledged to prioritise job creation, skills acquisition and economic empowerment to address poverty and improve living standards if elected in 2027. He said his proposed administration would equip residents with relevant skills through local and international partnerships.

“Plateau State is too rich to be poor,” Kyarshik declared, promising to introduce programmes that would create jobs, empower residents and improve their economic conditions.

His running mate, Kaneng Rwang Pam, urged women, youths and other supporters to participate actively in the elections by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards and mobilising support at the grassroots.

She also cautioned against vote buying and called for greater inclusion of women and persons with disabilities in leadership and governance.

The Plateau State Coordinator of the party, Major Mohammed Abdullahi Danbaba, expressed confidence in the governorship candidates, describing Kyarshik and Pam as credible leaders who understand the needs of youths, women and vulnerable groups. He urged party members to intensify mobilisation and support APM candidates at all levels.

Speaking on behalf of the inaugurated campaign council members, the party’s candidate for Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam Federal Constituency, Seyilnen Luzu, Esq., described the inauguration of over 5,000 members as a major achievement.

He thanked the party leadership and campaign organisers, urging members to work together to deliver the party’s candidates in 2027.

Luzu said the party was determined to rewrite the political history of Plateau State and Nigeria, calling on members to remain disciplined and committed to the campaign.
