A new University Librarian has been appointed for Plateau State University Bokkos, he is Associate Professor Allahde Shehu.
The appointment of the University Librarian by the University’s Governing Council followed the voluntary withdrawal of service by the former University Librarian Associate Professor Victor Chuks Nwokedi to take another appointment.
The new University Librarian, Associate Professor Shehu is 53 years old and hails from Angwan Mission, Zamko, Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The new University Librarian attended Government Science School, Kuru from 1981-1988, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, from 1993 – 1998, Masters in Information Management 2009-2011, Masters in Disaster Risk Management from 2011 – 2013 both from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and Ph.D from Babcock University, Ogun State between 2014-2018.
He holds a Doctorate Degree in Information Resources Management (IRM).
He is a member of the Nigerian Library Association, Association of Government Libraries, Medical Libraries Association of Nigeria and was Head of Department of Library and Information Science, Bingham University before his present appointment amongst other Professional and career responsibilities.
Associate Professor Allahde Shehu is married and blessed with two children.
Before the taking over recently as the substantive University Librarian, Mrs. Zainab Maren had coordinated the affairs of the Library. The appointment is with effect from 1st January 2024 and is for a single tenure of five (5) years.
