Chief Kefas Ropshik Wungak officially opened the Kefiano Creative Hub in Jos after months of rigorous planning and building.
The hub will provide free training and mentorship programmes to children across the state. Sunday Polycarp, the Creative Director of Kefiano Creative Hub, stated at the launch on Friday, “The hub aims to transform the narrative of the creative economy in Plateau state.”
Chief Wungak emphasised the significance of Plateau communities adopting technology as a means of progress. He went on to say, “We aim to establish a platform for young individuals to prosper by harnessing the digital economy.”
Chief Wungak further emphasised the hub’s partnership with key agencies in order to enable talent development in the state.
Following the official opening of the centre in Jos, Chief Wungak, also known as Kefiano, disclosed that the hub’s flagship programme would be to teach at least 1700 young people across Plateau state beginning in February.
The highlight of the event was a virtual tour of the hub for special guests, including David Daser, former director-general of Plateau state’s information and communication technology development agency.
