Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang, has pledged to restructure the administration of all development partners in the state in an effort to improve service delivery efficiency and meet the state’s citizens’ developmental requirements.
Governor Mutfwang stated his administration’s commitment to revitalising the state’s energy, agricultural, and economic sectors in order to eradicate poverty and provide inhabitants with the promised benefits of democracy.
The announcement was made on Monday at the New Government House in Jos, Plateau State, during a courtesy visit by Governor Mutfwang to the Head of SEDIN Programme and Cluster Coordinator SEDEC GIZ Nigeria, as well as the ECOWAS Country Director, Dr. Markus Wauschkuhn.
Governor Mutfwang used the occasion to thank GIZ for their significant contribution to Plateau State over the years. During his time as the Local Government Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area, GIZ sponsored the building of a potato storage facility, which benefited the local people.
The Governor praised GIZ for their technical assistance and substantial investments aimed at alleviating poverty in Plateau State. He also requested GIZ’s assistance in combating young unemployment in the state.
Governor Mutfwang stated his commitment to capitalise on the current collaboration with GIZ in order to promote development in Plateau State.
Dr. Markus Wauschkuhn, Head of SEDIN Programme and Cluster Coordinator SEDEC GIZ Nigeria, and ECOWAS Country Director, extended gratitude to Governor Mutfwang for the warm welcome. He emphasised their focus on renewable energy, agricultural rehabilitation, and the building of a healthy economy for the benefit of citizens.
Dr. Wauschkuhn reaffirmed his commitment to working with Governor Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang’s government, emphasising the significance of working together to improve people’s living situations.
