The Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) has announced the commencement of applications for shop leases at Yankeke Plaza, located along the old railway line opposite the National Orthopaedic Hospital, formerly Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), in Jos, Plateau State.

The Board said the opportunity covers different categories of commercial spaces, including standard shops, semi-large stores and large spaces on the ground, first and second floors of the plaza.

In a public announcement signed by its General Manager, Arc. Hart Bankat, JMDB said application forms would be available from Thursday, October 29, to Wednesday, November 11, 2026.

The Board fixed a non-refundable application fee of ₦20,000, explaining that payment covers administrative charges but does not guarantee the allocation of a shop.

It noted that allocation would depend on the availability of spaces and compliance with approved architectural plans.

Interested business owners, entrepreneurs and traders have been directed to obtain and submit completed application forms at the Estate and Building Department, Room 34, JMDB office, No. 15 Ibrahim Dasuki Street, Jos.

The Board also emphasised that all payments must be made through designated banking channels, warning that cash payments would not be accepted.

JMDB clarified that the arrangement is strictly a leasehold opportunity and not an outright sale of the shops.

The Board encouraged interested applicants to visit its office for further information and clarification on the application process.
