The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared Dachung Musa Bagos winner of its primary election for the Jos East/South Federal Constituency of Plateau State, making him the party’s candidate for the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.

The Chairman of the Rerun Electoral Committee, Hon. Karu Simon Elisha, announced the result on Thursday, October 29, 2026, following the collation of votes from a court-ordered rerun conducted across 11 wards in Jos East and Jos South local government areas.

Bagos polled 5,523 votes in the rerun, while Esther Beatrice Damboyi scored 1,332 votes. Ajiji Arum, Abok Ayuba and Ajang Alfred recorded one vote each, while Florence D. Young and Rebecca Hadar Sambu scored no votes.

In the final collation combining the rerun results with those of the earlier primary election, Bagos emerged with 12,181 votes.

Damboyi came second with 2,495 votes, followed by Abok Ayuba with 1,121 votes. Ajiji Arum scored 169 votes, Ajang Alfred polled 95, while Rebecca Hadar Sambu and Florence D. Young recorded 56 and zero votes, respectively.

Declaring the outcome, Elisha said the committee, acting under the authority of the APC National Chairman, recognised Bagos as the party’s candidate for the constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election.

The rerun followed a High Court order directing the APC to repeat its primary election in 11 wards of the constituency.

The party had said the exercise was aimed at ensuring compliance with the court’s directive and providing a transparent process for eligible aspirants.

The declaration brings the committee’s collation process to a close, with Bagos emerging as the APC’s candidate for the Jos East/South Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
