The Executive Chairman of the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service (PSIRS), Dr. Jim Pam Wayas, has highlighted the need for a local data centre to strengthen data security, improve operational efficiency and support the state’s digital transformation agenda.

Wayas made this known when officials of the Plateau Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA) visited the Service.

He said the proposed facility would provide critical digital infrastructure to support government operations and the growing use of technology in public service delivery.

According to him, a local data centre would help government agencies manage and access information more efficiently while strengthening the security of digital records.

The initiative could also support technology-driven revenue administration and improve the delivery of services to taxpayers and other residents.

Wayas reaffirmed PSIRS’s commitment to adopting technology to improve taxpayer experience, promote transparency and enhance accountability in revenue collection.

He stressed the importance of sustained collaboration with PICTDA to ensure that technology solutions address the operational needs of government agencies.

The PSIRS chairman commended the agency for its support in advancing technology adoption across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state.
