As Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for Barkin Ladi State House of Assembly, Hon. Hitler Joshua Pwajok, has called on Nigerians to uphold unity, responsible citizenship and the values of freedom as the country continues its democratic journey.
Pwajok, in his Independence Day message, said Nigeria’s journey from struggle to freedom and progress should remind citizens of their collective responsibility to contribute to the development and stability of the nation.
He said, “From struggle to freedom, and from freedom to progress, Nigeria continues to move forward. As we celebrate our 66th Independence Anniversary, I join fellow Nigerians in celebrating the pride of belonging to a nation that is eternal in spirit and ever-new in hope.”
The PDP candidate said the challenges confronting the country should not diminish citizens’ belief in Nigeria, urging Nigerians to remain committed to building a peaceful and prosperous nation.
According to him, the strength of the country lies not only in its natural resources but also in the resilience, diversity and determination of its people.
He said, “May this anniversary renew our commitment to freedom, unity, responsible citizenship and a better future.”
Pwajok also called on citizens to uphold shared national values and recognise their role in shaping the future of the country.
He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and contribute positively to their communities, stressing that national development requires collective effort and responsible participation.
The Barkin Ladi PDP candidate wished Nigerians a happy Independence Anniversary, expressing hope for a more peaceful, united and prosperous Nigeria.
He said the anniversary should serve as an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the country’s journey while renewing their commitment to its progress.
