The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Barkin Ladi State Assembly Constituency, Hon. Hitler Joshua Pwajok, has pledged stronger support for youths, promising to prioritise their empowerment, development and participation in governance if elected in the 2027 general election.
Pwajok made the commitment in a message commemorating the 2026 International Youth Day, where he congratulated young people across Plateau State and Nigeria on the occasion.
The former Special Adviser on Youth Mobilisation and Engagement to Governor Caleb Mutfwang said youths remain critical to the development of the state and must be given greater opportunities to contribute meaningfully to society.
He said his experience working with young people across Plateau had strengthened his belief in youth empowerment, skills development and inclusive participation in governance.
Pwajok urged youths to remain united and focused, while taking advantage of opportunities in agriculture, entrepreneurship, technology, education and other productive sectors.
He also called on government and other stakeholders to increase investment in youth development, stressing that supporting young people is an investment in the future of Plateau State.
The PDP candidate said, if elected to represent Barkin Ladi, he would make youth development and empowerment a major component of his legislative agenda.
He urged young people to remain peaceful, responsible and actively involved in issues affecting their communities, saying their voices must be heard in decisions that shape their future.
Pwajok wished youths across the state a Happy International Youth Day, urging them to remain hopeful, resilient and committed to building a better Plateau.
