Nigerian singer Brymo has alleged that music icon 2Baba once asked his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay, if she had been intimate with him.
Brymo made the claim during a recent interview on the Notjustok podcast, recalling what he described as a memorable encounter that allegedly took place in 2019 at an office in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
According to the singer, 2Baba looked him in the eye before turning to Annie and asking if she had slept with him.
“As at 2019, I remember that moment in Naomi’s office in Lekki Phase 1 when 2Face looked me straight in the eyes and asked, ‘Annie, you don f**k Brymo?’ I will never forget it,” he said.
Brymo did not explain what led to the alleged confrontation or reveal Annie’s response.
As of the time of filing this report, neither 2Baba nor Annie Macaulay has publicly reacted to the allegation.
The ‘Ara’ crooner also admitted that he had relationships with several married women during the early years of his career. He, however, advised younger artistes against getting involved with married women, saying such relationships could have grave consequences.
“I met quite a number of older women who were truly married… They would tell me they were separated from their husbands. This goes to younger artistes, stop sleeping with people’s wives. They will cut your life short,” he said.
Brymo has courted controversy in the past with comments about colleagues in the music industry.
In 2023, he claimed he once made intimacy a condition for collaborating with female artistes, including Simi and Efya. He later said he regretted the condition he gave Simi, adding that he was unaware she was in a relationship with Adekunle Gold at the time.
