Hon. Alex Gyang Kundang, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House, Plateau State, has resigned his membership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), citing the need to reassess his political direction following recent developments in the country.
In a resignation letter dated December 31, 2025, addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Riyom Ward, Riyom Local Government Area, Hon. Kundang said his decision followed deep personal reflection and a desire to pursue a clearer and more promising political future. He noted that recent political events made it necessary for him to reconsider his focus.
The letter stated that his resignation from the PDP takes immediate effect. The document was formally acknowledged as received by the PDP ward leadership on the same day, confirming his exit from the party.
Despite leaving the party, the Deputy Chief of Staff expressed gratitude to the PDP for nurturing and grooming him politically over the years through its platform and membership. He also wished the party well in its future engagements.
A copy of the resignation letter was forwarded to the Chairman of the PDP in Riyom Local Government Area, formally notifying the party structure at both ward and local government levels.
As of the time of filing this report, Hon. Alex Gyang Kundang has not announced his next political move, while the PDP leadership in Riyom LGA is yet to react officially to his resignation.
