A statement purportedly issued on behalf of former Plateau State Governor, Senator Jonah David Jang, has been disowned by his media consultant, Comrade Clinton Garuba.
Garuba, in a clarification issued on Thursday, said his attention was drawn to a press release titled “Jonah David Jang remains a dedicated PDP leader; he has no intention of defecting.”
He firmly stated that the widely circulating document did not originate from him and should not be attributed to his office.
According to him, the public is advised to disregard the entire content of the statement, as it is fake and misleading.
Garuba condemned the authors of the false release, describing the content as inferior and unworthy of public attention.
He expressed concern over the growing trend of fabricated statements and urged citizens to resist media manipulation in all forms.
The consultant further called on the public to unite in the fight against fake news, which he said poses a serious threat to public trust and responsible communication.
He reaffirmed his commitment to providing accurate information on behalf of Senator Jang and urged the media to verify sources before publishing sensitive political statements.
