The Plateau State Police Command has recorded major successes in its fight against crime under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina.
The Command carried out several operations across the state in September 2025, leading to the arrest of kidnappers, robbers, and the recovery of illegal firearms.
Speaking in Jos, CP Adesina said the Command remains committed to protecting lives and property while ensuring criminals have no hiding place in Plateau State.
He disclosed that one Auwal Mohammed, 20, from Toro LGA in Bauchi State, was arrested by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for belonging to a syndicate that operates along the Plateau-Bauchi border. A cutlass, food items, and a mobile phone belonging to a victim were recovered from him.
Similarly, three suspects—Sunusi Abdullahi, Suleiman Saidu, and Abbas Yusuf—were arrested in Mista-Ali, Bassa LGA. They confessed to being members of a gang that has been terrorizing residents of Mista-Ali and Tsaya villages.
In another operation, police rescued a kidnapped victim named Ebuka after intercepting a Sienna vehicle used by his abductors in Jos. Four suspects were arrested, and a locally fabricated pistol was recovered.
The Commissioner further revealed that two suspects, Inusa Yahaya and Abdulrahman Suleiman, were arrested in collaboration with the Bauchi State Police Command for illegal possession of a locally made revolver rifle.
At Namu in Qua’an Pan LGA, police also arrested Ahmed Yakubu for robbing a motorcyclist of his ₦1.2 million motorcycle, while two others, Damulak Peter and Patrick Bernard, were caught in Nasarawa State for stealing four cows worth ₦5 million.
