Former Plateau State Governor and Senator, Dr. Jonah David Jang, has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that he has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
In a press statement issued on December 28, 2025, by his Media Consultant, Comrade Clinton Garuba, the senator described the reports as fake and the handiwork of mischief-makers.
The statement clarified that Senator Jang, who is a founding member of the PDP, remains firmly committed to the party, which he described as the pride of the Nigerian people. It noted that while the former governor would ordinarily ignore such unfounded claims, it became necessary to address the issue to set the record straight.
Although the PDP is currently facing internal challenges, Senator Jang expressed strong confidence that the ongoing court cases would resolve the crises rocking the party and reposition it for a return to national prominence.
He further stated his belief that the PDP would overcome its present difficulties, put past issues behind it, and reclaim its rightful place at the pinnacle of Nigerian politics.
The statement urged the public to disregard the false reports and rely only on verified information from credible sources.
