Sen. Istifanus D. Gyang has condemned the recent deadly attacks on Dorowa community as well as the killing of commuters along the highway, describing the incidents as tragic and deeply disturbing.

The senator said the attacks, which claimed several innocent lives, have once again exposed the painful insecurity confronting communities and travelers, calling for urgent and decisive action to stop the violence.

“I am deeply saddened and heartbroken by the tragic loss of nine (9) persons following terror attacks on Dorowa community and also the barbaric killing of four (4) commuters plying the highway,” he said.

He described the incidents as cruel and unjustifiable, stressing that violence against innocent citizens can never be defended under any circumstance.

“These senseless and barbaric acts of violence on innocent citizens are profoundly condemnable tragedies that no words can fully comfort,” Senator Gyang stated.

The lawmaker warned that continued attacks only worsen suffering and fuel division among communities, undermining efforts toward peaceful coexistence.

“No community and families of the victims deserve such pain. The cycle of violence must end through justice, security, and reconciliation,” he added.

Senator Gyang called on Nigerians to remain calm and united, emphasizing that peace and togetherness remain critical despite provocation and grief.

“I appeal to all well-meaning citizens to remain committed in our quest for peace and togetherness,” he said.

He further urged security agencies to intensify their efforts to protect lives and ensure those responsible for the attacks are held accountable.

The senator expressed sympathy with families who lost loved ones, acknowledging the pain of parents, children, relatives, and friends affected by the violence.

“To the families who have lost loved ones—parents, siblings, children, friends—my sincerest condolences. May God grant you strength, solace, and emotional healing in this unbearable time of grief,” he concluded.
