The Berom community in Abuja (BECA) held the annual Nzem Berom on Saturday 26/4/25 with Senator I. D. Gyang as chairman of the occasion.
The event had the presence of the Gbong Gwom Jos, His Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba CON, in representative capacity through Gwom Rwey Heipang Hrh Da Paul BulusTadi and Gwom Rwey Kabong Hrh Da Emmanuel Pam Nyam among many other dignitaries, illustrious Berom sons and daughters.
In his remarks, Senator Gyang decried the disruption of peace and killings by the resurgence of terror attacks on host communities. He called on the Military and other security agencies, who had done well in the last 20 months in sustaining peace, to act swiftly on the recent “Enough is Enough” directive of President Tinubu and deal decisively with the terrorist to avert any further attacks and loss of lives. He subscribes to embedding community resilience and vigilance both as a necessity and priority.
Senator Gyang commended the BECA President and leadership for hosting Nzem Berom in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, not only to showcase but popularize the Berom culture, nationally. He also expressed his persuasion that given the ever dynamic and increasing complexity of the Nigerian body polity, the Berom people ought not to be peripheral nor play on the sidelines but through deliberate strategic repositioning, engage and proactively take our rightful place and space at the national stage as active players in the Nigerian project while not jettisoning the home front.
