Riyom Local Government Area is set to benefit more from ongoing and planned developmental projects as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Sati Bature Shuwa, has highlighted key interventions in road and education infrastructure across the LGA.

Hon. Shuwa made this known in a press statement issued by Damba Dang, the Chief Press Secretary on February 9, 2026, where he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to development, unity, and peaceful coexistence in Riyom.

The Chairman called on youths across the local government to embrace responsible use of social media by promoting ideas and conversations that encourage peace, unity, and progress.

He cautioned against the spread of misinformation or divisive content capable of creating tension among leaders and citizens, stressing that positive engagement remains crucial to sustainable development.

Hon. Shuwa also reiterated that his administration maintains a cordial and productive working relationship with the Plateau State Government, dismissing claims of discord as false and misleading.

He specifically acknowledged the support of the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Hon. Ngo Josephine Piyo, a native of Riyom, describing the collaboration as beneficial to the people of the LGA.

The Council Chairman commended Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his consistent support and empathy toward Riyom, particularly during challenging periods faced by the local government.

He highlighted major state-sponsored projects currently impacting the area, including the rehabilitation of the Ganawuri Road and the award of the Hoss–Bachi Road construction project.

According to him, construction work on the Bachi Road is expected to commence soon, a development that will improve connectivity and boost economic activities within the LGA.

At the local government level, Hon. Shuwa noted that several projects have been initiated, completed, or are ongoing, including the construction of the Dachindo Bridge and the extension of the Gonkot Bridge in Ganawuri, reaffirming his administration’s people-oriented development agenda.
