Former National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Prince Miaphen, has donated assorted medical equipment, essential drugs and healthcare consumables to Primary Healthcare Centres in Qua’an Pan and Shendam Local Government Areas of Plateau State as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots healthcare delivery.

Miaphen who was a APC Reps Aspirant for Qua’pan, Shendam and Mikang Federal Constituency in 2027 elections also passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, praised the President for what he described as his commitment to national development, youth empowerment, infrastructure expansion and improving the welfare of Nigerians.

Speaking during the presentation of the medical intervention, Miaphen said President Tinubu had demonstrated genuine concern for the well-being of citizens through people-oriented policies and programmes.

He said, “We have a President who loves humanity and is committed to the developmental well-being of Nigerians. His efforts in infrastructure development, educational empowerment, rural development and youth empowerment speak for themselves.

“We will continue to pray that Almighty God grants him wisdom, strength and good health to continue leading the country. By God’s grace, we hope to re-elect him for a second term in 2027.”

The former student leader explained that the healthcare intervention was driven by his passion for humanity and desire to improve access to quality healthcare services at the grassroots.

According to him, the initiative is designed to complement the efforts of both the Federal Government and the Plateau State Government in enhancing healthcare delivery across communities.

“I am here to add value to the tremendous work being done by Mr. President and our amiable Governor. We have leaders who are genuinely concerned about the welfare of the people, and this is my own contribution towards supporting their efforts”.

Miaphen noted that Qua’an Pan and Shendam were deliberately selected as the first beneficiaries of the intervention, describing the project as the beginning of a broader healthcare support programme that would eventually spread across the Southern Senatorial District and other parts of Plateau State.

“Charity begins at home. Qua’an Pan is my home and naturally became the first beneficiary. Shendam was selected because of its strategic position within the Southern Zone and its significance to our people. This is only the beginning. By God’s grace, we will attract more healthcare facilities, equipment and interventions to other local governments and communities”.

The donation sparked excitement across communities in Shendam Ward A, Shendam Ward B and Turniang in Qua’pan, where residents, healthcare workers and stakeholders commended Miaphen for what they described as a timely intervention capable of improving healthcare outcomes.

Representing the Chairman of Shendam Local Government Council, Deputy Chairman, Hon. Paul Goeboro, lauded Miaphen’s investment in the health sector, describing the gesture as impactful and beneficial to vulnerable members of society.

He stressed that healthcare remains a critical component of development and prayed for greater opportunities and divine blessings upon the donor.

Also speaking, the Councillors representing Wards A and B, alongside the Supervisory Councillor for Health, Hon. Sansuk, praised Miaphen’s commitment to community development and public welfare.

At Turniang, the atmosphere was filled with celebration as community leaders, party officials and residents gathered to witness the presentation.

The APC Chairman in Qua’an Pan Local Government commended Miaphen for the healthcare intervention and also acknowledged his role in funding the renovation of the party’s previously collapsed secretariat.

He described the intervention as a demonstration of selfless service and unwavering commitment to community development.

Similarly, the Deputy Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government, Hon. Parlong Donatus, applauded Miaphen’s numerous humanitarian interventions and remarked that many elected public office holders had yet to match the level of impact he had made without occupying any political office.
According to him, Miaphen’s actions reflected uncommon leadership qualities, generosity and dedication to improving the lives of ordinary people.

He urged well-meaning individuals to emulate such acts of service, noting that communities thrive when their sons and daughters invest in the welfare of the people.

The event attracted goodwill messages, prayers and commendations from residents who described the intervention as more than a donation, but a practical demonstration of compassionate leadership and commitment to humanity.

The medical supplies donated included an ECG machine, hospital beds, wheelchairs, blood pressure monitors, laboratory packs, delivery kits, autoclave sterilizers, antimalarial drugs, antibiotics, antihypertensive medications and other life-saving healthcare consumables aimed at strengthening primary healthcare services in the benefiting communities.
