Armed policemen have teargassed the 16 Peoples Democratic Party members of the Plateau State House of Assembly who were sacked by the Court of Appeal.
The incident occurred when the lawmakers arrived at the Rayfield Old Government House in Jos on Tuesday morning alongside their supporters, preparatory to their resumption of plenary.
Police officers and other security personnel took control of the Government House and barred the fired MPs from entering the House of Assembly rooms, but the lawmakers refused to leave.
