Hon. Joshua Ubandoma Laven, PhD, the Plateau State Commissioner for Works, has been honoured with the Commissioner of the Year Award at the 2025 Plateau Man of the Year Awards in recognition of his outstanding contributions to infrastructure development and public service delivery across the state.

Since taking charge of the Ministry of Works, Ubandoma has demonstrated uncommon dedication to reviving critical infrastructure, with a strong focus on completing long-abandoned projects and restoring public confidence in government-led development initiatives.

Under his leadership, several strategic road projects have been successfully completed, including the Utonkon – Abattoir Bridge, Mama Iyabo–Namua Junction road in Jos, the Panyam Fish Farm road, among other projects, bringing relief to residents, improving access, and stimulating economic activities within affected communities.

His approach to governance has been marked by regular project inspections, strict adherence to standards, and a results-driven mindset that prioritizes value for money and timely delivery of projects for the benefit of the people.

Ubandoma’s work has gone beyond asphalt and concrete, as his vision positions infrastructure as a foundation for economic growth, social stability, and improved quality of life across Plateau State.

The Commissioner of the Year Award is a reflection of his relentless service, practical leadership, and measurable impact, celebrating a commissioner whose commitment continues to leave lasting footprints on Plateau State’s development journey.

The 2025 edition of the Plateau Man of the Year Awards is set to hold on Saturday, 8th February 2026, at the Usiju World Event Centre in Jos, bringing together distinguished personalities, public servants, and stakeholders to celebrate outstanding achievements and contributions to the development of Plateau State.
