Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel, has expressed deep concern over recent security incidents and reported killings in Angwan Rukuba, appealing for restraint, calm, and collective responsibility among residents.

He described the incidents as quite unfortunate and a painful setback to the peace and stability of the state, noting that the loss of innocent lives requires collective restraint, sober reflection, and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence.

The Speaker commended the swift response of the Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, particularly his prompt visits to affected communities and immediate interventions aimed at restoring order and reassuring citizens.

Rt. Hon. Naanlong urged residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and supportive of ongoing efforts by security agencies to restore normalcy, while cautioning against spreading unfolded rumours capable of escalating tensions within communities.

The speaker emphasized that the Plateau State House of Assembly will continue to work closely with the Executive arm of government and relevant security authorities to strengthen coordination, support peace-building initiatives, and ensure the protection of lives and property across the state.
