The union further directed students residing in hostels to remain indoors until further instructions are given.
Students living off-campus were also urged to stay inside their residences and avoid exposure to any potential danger.
“Do not attempt to move outside, to avoid being caught in any potential crossfire,” the statement added.
According to the SUG, security agencies have already been deployed to strategic locations within and around the institution.
The presence of these operatives, the union noted, is part of coordinated efforts to restore calm and maintain order.
“All security agencies are currently on ground, both within and outside the campus, and are actively handling the situation,” the notice stated.
The SUG also disclosed that arrangements are underway for a possible evacuation of students if the situation requires it.
It explained that the evacuation process would be organized and is expected to commence by morning.
“An organized evacuation process will commence by morning where necessary,” the statement said.
Students were encouraged to stay connected with one another and rely only on verified information from official sources.
The union reiterated its commitment to the welfare of students and urged everyone to remain vigilant and cooperative.
The statement was signed by the SUG Public Relations Officer, Comrade Godfrey Ja’afaru Gyangs, on behalf of the SUG President, Comrade Emmanuel DanDam.
