Governor Caleb Mutfwang of plateau State has charged the judiciary to work assiduously towards correcting the wrong perception people are currently having about the Judiciary who is suppose to be the hope of common man.
They should be aware that they are servants in the temple of justice, and they should dispense Justice without fear ,favor or ill will to all manner of persons and allow their conscience to prink them when giving bad judgement.
Governor Mutfwang stated this during the 2023 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Plateau Branch, Law Week held at Millennium International Conference Centre Domkat Bali Road Jos , Monday 4th November 2023 at the opening ceremony.
Represented by the Commissioner for land and Survey in the state, the governor said the recent conflicts election Tribunal judgement sitting in the state has keep tongue wagging and making the public view the judiciary with suspicion and skepticism which is not good for our democracy , hence the need for Judiciary to purge itself to earn public credibility.
Said until those negative perceptions are corrected that will give confidence to the public , the public will continue view the judiciary as cash and carry, which may not be too good for the reputation of the hitherto judiciary that is being held in high esteem.
Governor Mutfwang however prayed for God to give the judiciary the courage and enablement to do that which is right and correct the perceived wrong that had been perpetrated.
Lauded the theme of this year 2023 Law Week, “Law And Policy : A Chequered Odyssey” which he hope will address numerous challenges facing the association at the end of the event and wish them fruitful delibration.
