Plateau-born music artiste, Panshak Christopher, popularly known as PK Wagba, has unveiled his latest single, “Basu Kidi,” featuring Northern music heavyweights B.O.C Madaki and Dr. Kozzo.
The song was unveiled at a listening party in Jos, Plateau State, where music lovers, artistes and other stakeholders gathered to celebrate the new project and its collaboration with two prominent artistes from Northern Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, PK Wagba said the listening party was organised to celebrate the release of the song and give fans an opportunity to experience the new sound.
“We are here together to celebrate my new release, titled Basu Kidi, featuring B.O.C Madaki and Dr. Koz,” he said.
The artiste expressed optimism that the collaboration would open new opportunities for him, particularly by exposing his music to audiences across Northern Nigeria.
He said, “It is all greatness. We pray that this song will open closed doors for us. Featuring these two big headliners of the North, B.O.C. and Kuzu, I pray that I will tap from their grace and enter more into the North.”
PK Wagba noted that he already has listeners in several Northern states, including Bauchi and Kaduna, and expressed hope that the new song would further expand his audience across the region.
The artiste also spoke on the role of music in promoting Plateau State and fostering unity among artistes from different parts of the North.
Describing himself as a “Plateau boy, born and brought up,” PK Wagba said he believes initiatives that promote Plateau must begin from home before extending to other parts of the country.
“Anything you do, you start from home first,” he said, recalling that he had earlier organised an event in Jos where the same artistes were invited to perform.
According to him, such collaborations are part of an effort to build stronger relationships among artistes and promote a message of unity through music.
“We are trying to put our heads together so there will be one, regardless — one Plateau, one music, one Nigeria,” he said.
The release of Basu Kidi further strengthens PK Wagba’s growing profile as a Plateau artiste seeking to use music and collaborations to connect audiences across the region while projecting the state’s creative talent beyond its borders.
