Both Ends Believing (BEB) has donated 40 Starlink internet kits to the Plateau State Government to strengthen child protection systems and improve the documentation of vulnerable children across the state.
The equipment, donated by SpaceX through its Starlink for Good project, comes with 13 months of sponsored internet subscriptions.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, BEB Country Manager, Silas Gyang Nyam, said the initiative would help address connectivity challenges facing children’s homes and improve the management of children’s records.
He disclosed that BEB’s Children First Software database had documented 34 child care institutions and 1,183 children in institutional care in Plateau State, alongside 93 children in family-based alternative care.
Nyam, however, revealed that the parental status of 693 children in the state remained unknown, underscoring the need for improved documentation and family tracing.
“This is why connectivity matters,” he said, explaining that reliable internet access would enable children’s homes to update records promptly and strengthen coordination with government agencies and child protection partners.
“Our vision is simple: One Child, One Record, Everyone Accountable,” Nyam added, stressing that accurate data would help stakeholders make informed decisions in the best interests of every child.

Responding on behalf of the Plateau State Government, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Caroline Dafur, commended BEB and SpaceX for supporting child protection efforts in the state.
Dafur said the donation would address connectivity challenges in children’s homes, noting that accurate documentation and data sharing were essential for effective child protection and case management.
She assured that the ministry would support the initiative, monitor the installation and maintenance of the equipment, and ensure the confidentiality of children’s information.
The commissioner subsequently handed over the 40 Starlink kits to the State Coordinator of the Child Protection Network (CPN), Mrs Sandra Dirmwa Chikan, for onward coordination and deployment.
BEB reaffirmed its commitment to working with the Plateau State Government and other child protection partners to improve documentation, strengthen family tracing and promote safe, stable family environments for vulnerable children.
