Working towards achieving Her mission of fighting against child trafficking, and violence against women and also empowering women in the Plateau, The Newly Appointed Commissioner of Women Affairs in Plateau State, Hon. Mrs Caroline Pangiang has mapped out plans for the development of women In Plateau State.

Hon. Pangiang made this known to staff as she took over the office as Commissioner for the Ministry of Women Affairs Plateau State where she was received by Mr Dokbish Michael Zakaria who is the Director of Administration and Acting Permanent Secretary.

While addressing the Staff of the Ministry, Hon. Mrs. Caroline Pangiang stated that Her topmost priority is to Develop and empower women, fight against child trafficking and Abuse, Violence Against Women, and also Girl Child Education in the state.

She said, “Under my watch as Women Affairs commissioner, we will put all hands on deck to ensure that women in the state key into various activities that will bring about the development and growth of women on the plateau which will enable them to stand out amongst women in Nigeria. This can only be achieved by the cooperation of staff of this ministry”.

“I have mapped out plans for the development of women on the Plateau because women are the most affected gender in terms of crisis. We shall take appropriate steps that will help and assist women in various ways. We shall also work towards encouraging the girl child education, to fight the discrimination against women and also child abuses, Skills acquisition and empowerment for women will also be considered”.

Earlier, Mr Dokbish Michael Zakaria who is the Director of Administration and Acting Permanent Secretary to the Ministry officially handed over documents of the ministry to the honorable commissioner to kickstart her duty.

According to Mr. Dokbish that the handing over of documents is a brief history and a guide to the activities of the ministry.

Dr Murtala Isenba Magaji the staff officer of the ministry charge the staff to continue to be diligent in their duties and responsibilities.

The Staff Officer said, “The Ministry has the youngest commissioner since the inception of the ministry. haven’t worked with her, but her pedigree and wealth of experience show that she is a hardworking person”.
