Hon. Dr. (Amb.) Chomo Sambo Datiyi has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), signaling his intention to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The resignation was conveyed in a formal letter dated January 1, 2026, and addressed to the Ward Chairman of PDP Turu Ward, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State. In the letter, Hon. Dr. Chomo clearly stated that his decision takes effect from January 1, 2026.
According to the brief notice, he informed the party of his withdrawal from the PDP and thanked the leadership for their understanding, without stating specific reasons for his decision.
Hon. Dr. Chomo Sambo Datiyi is a known political figure in Jos South and Jos East axis of Plateau State. He contested as an aspirant for the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency during the 2023 general elections.
Sources close to him have confirmed that he is set to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), a move that is expected to further reshape the political landscape in the area.
His resignation adds to the growing list of political realignments ahead of future elections in Plateau State, as major parties continue to position themselves for stronger grassroots support.
