Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has conveyed his profound sympathies to the Kabong community of Jos North Local Government Area following the unfortunate occurrence on Saturday morning that resulted in the loss of life and property due to high voltage power.
Governor Mutfwang, accompanied by Deputy Governor Ngo Josephine Piyo, visited the survivors at Ola Hospital and Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, hoping for the injured to heal quickly.
The Governor described the episode as very saddening and terrible, and promised that strict measures would be taken to prevent repeat instances. He urged the beleaguered families and traders to seek refuge in God.
Governor Mutfwang promised the government’s assistance in rebuilding their life.
The Governor thanked the Kabong community for their unwavering support of his administration and reaffirmed his commitment to tackling issues that will improve the lives of the people of the state.
Arc. Samuel Jatau, Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, Barr. Nyam Gai, Commissioner of Lands and Survey, Hon. Sunday Abdu, and House of Assembly Member, Hon. Danjuma Azi, also expressed their condolences and assured the community of the government’s assistance in improving their living conditions.
Sylvanus Bonniface, Youth Leader of Kabong Central Youth Forum, who recounted the incident, expressed gratitude for Governor Mutfwang’s prompt visit and urged the government to assist bereaved families and those who lost their livelihoods in order for them to rebuild their lives.
