Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has dismissed reports of a 60-40 cabinet sharing formula between his administration and the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying no such agreement was reached.

Mutfwang made this known at the Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, while addressing the issue of political appointments in his administration.

β€œI never made any promise to share government positions since my journey to APC. I made commitment to share party positions,” the governor said.

He noted that 16 of the 24 APC House of Assembly candidates are legacy APC members, while eight joined the party alongside him from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Mutfwang urged members to end the distinction between the two groups, saying, β€œThe time has come when we must kill the dichotomy between the governance group and the legacy group. We are one big family.”

The governor cited the appointment of Prince Miaphen, a long-standing APC member, as an example of appointments being based on capacity rather than political affiliation.
