Divine Specialist Consults has officially opened its doors in Rayfield, Jos, bringing advanced medical diagnostic and eyecare services, closer to the community. The launch event featured a free medical tests and eyecare services, including issuing of eye glasses to deserving beneficieries allowing residents of Rayfield and the state at large to access quality healthcare and experience the facility’s services firsthand.
The newly established medical diagnostic and eyecare centre is equipped to provide a wide range of specialised services, including General Laboratory tests, Histopathology,
Cytology, FNAC, Immunohistochemistry, Hormonal Assay, tumour markers and comprehensive eye care services. This initiative aims to improve healthcare accessibility and promote early diagnosis and treatment in the region.

Speaking during the official launch, MLS. Ibiwumi Akinwale, Head of Technical Unit and Technical Specialist, shared the journey that led to the establishment of the facility. She explained that the vision began six years ago at the former Potters Specialist Hospital in Miango Junction, starting small with limited resources and few clients.
“Today, by the grace of God, what started small has become a testimony of faith, perseverance, and service,” Akinwale stated. She described the centre as one dedicated to improving health outcomes for the community, adding that the journey from humble beginnings had been driven by a deep commitment to excellence and compassionate care.
Akinwale highlighted the critical role of specialized services such as histopathology, immunohistochemistry, tumour markers, cancer screening and hormonal assays in providing early and accurate diagnosis.
She also emphasized that histology test results at the center are delivered within 48 to 72 hours, ensuring timely interventions, in line with globally recommended turnaround time, especially for life-threatening conditions like cancer. For other routine tests, your results are gotten immediately so that trratment decisions can be taken immediately
What sets Divine Specialist Consults apart, Akinwale noted, is its comprehensive range of services under one roof, including microbiology, haematology, chemical pathology, immunology, and dedicated eye care. She concluded by stressing the centre’s unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity, and compassionate care for the community.

Also speaking at the launch, Mr. Madugu Bwebum, the Administrative and Logistics Officer, emphasised the importance of efficient management in delivering quality healthcare services. He explained that behind every reliable laboratory and clinical service lies a strong administrative framework that ensures patients receive timely, coordinated, and dependable care.
Bwebum noted that the centre’s success is a direct result of teamwork and collaboration, with every staff member, from the CEO, pathologists, laboratory scientists, other technical and administrative personnel, playing a vital role in maintaining high service standards. He assured the community that the facility is committed to creating a welcoming, patient-focused environment where individuals feel valued and respected. According to him, the administrative framework is designed to support continuous growth, efficiency, and excellence in healthcare delivery.

The Senior Pastor of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Headquarters offered a prayer for the founder during the ceremony. He asked for God’s guidance, protection, and blessings over their work, praying that Divine Specialist Consults would grow in excellence and continue to be a source of healing, hope, and divine favour.

While launching the facility, Prof. Barnabas Mandong, Consultant Pathologist at Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), commended the founders for their vision and perseverance. He encouraged them to continue providing high-quality, patient-centred care and to uphold integrity and compassion, describing their work as a divine service to the community.

Delivering his goodwill message, Dr. Shem Yilleng, Managing Director of The Potters Specialist Hospital, applauded the founder for their dedication and innovative approach to medical services. He encouraged them to continue expanding and introducing advanced diagnostics like immunohistochemistry, expressing confidence that the facility would grow to become a leading centre in both pathology and ophthalmology.

Prof. Matilda Banwat, Head of the Rayfield Zonal Fellowship of COCIN, commended the founder for their dedication, skill, and generous service to humanity. She expressed happiness on behalf of the zone and prayed that they would continue to experience God’s amazing grace in this important healthcare endeavour.

Chief Monday ES Maliu, landlord of Bwebum Plaza, congratulated the founder and wished them success, reflecting on the importance of helping others.
