The Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has praised members of the Nigerian Army (NA) for their commitment and dedication in addressing the country’s security concerns. The minister made the remark after receiving a briefing on the NA’s operational engagements on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, during his first familiarisation visit to the Army Headquarters in Abuja.
The minister, who was accompanied by the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Muhammed Matawalle, and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, praised the Nigerian Army’s efforts in combating emerging security challenges and pledged that the Federal Government will do everything in its power to support the Nigerian Army, particularly through interventions in the provision of accommodation, manpower, logistics, and combat enablers to enhance personnel’s morale and operational efficiency in mitigating security challenges across the country.
The minister commended Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), for the accomplishments made thus far and assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, will continue to help the NA in fulfilling its constitutional obligations. In order to bring about the desired peace in the nation, he exhorted the troops not to give up.
