Chief Maichibi Meshach Mikailu, Jakadan Matasan Arewa, and the Plateau Man of the Year, known for his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and sports development, surprised his boys at Maichibi United Football Club (MFC) with a once in a lifetime opportunity.
The Chairman and Proprietor of MUFC secured his team’s participation in an international football scouting exercise, facilitated by Hon. Amb. Daniel Asama Ago, Member representing Jos North/Bassa in the Federal House of Representatives, in collaboration with the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA).
This historic event was marked by the arrival of a Grade One World Renowned Football Scout, who arrived from Abuja to Jos, Plateau State the heart of Nigeria’s football talent. The two day scouting exercise, held from Wednesday, 21st August, to Thursday, 22nd August 2024, at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, featured teams of young talents eager to take their skills to international level.
Maichibi United Football Club, a Division One team in the Nigerian Premier League, took full advantage of this golden opportunity. They engaged in a scintillating 50 minute match against a formidable opponent, TBC during the second day of the exercise. The match, which ended in a goalless draw further confirmed the team’s resilience and determination, a performance they dedicated to the large heartedness of their Proprietor.
In a related development, three of the team’s talented lads ; Bewarang Panshak Philip, Chomen Tongshinen Nuhu, Godik Valentine Abednego are currently at Eagle’s pushing their luck. All courtesy the magnanimity of the Chief Maichibi.
