In a determined effort to enhance security across Plateau State, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has distributed over 100 motorcycles, along with raincoats and rainboots, to various security agencies. This initiative is aimed at improving surveillance and operational efficiency in rural communities, where challenging terrains have long hindered effective policing.

The distribution took place on Thursday at the Old Government House in Rayfield, where Governor Mutfwang reiterated his administration’s commitment to safeguarding all citizens. He explained that this move is part of a broader strategy to empower security personnel, allowing them to better navigate difficult terrains and protect rural areas.

“This is a significant step towards securing peace and stability in Plateau State. In the last two months, we have made notable progress in our quest for a safer Plateau. Providing essential logistics to our security agencies, especially in rural areas, is vital for protecting our farmers and ensuring food security for our people,” Governor Mutfwang stated.

The governor also mentioned the state’s investment in advanced technology to combat security challenges and warned against the misuse of the motorcycles, assuring that strict measures would be in place to prevent any misconduct.

Mr. Samuel Jatau, Secretary to the Government of the State, added that the equipment would be distributed among various security agencies, including the military, Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and Operation Rainbow.

Mr. Alexander Barunde, the Commandant of NSCDC in Plateau State, expressed gratitude on behalf of the security agencies, assuring that the equipment would be effectively used to enhance security across the state.
