Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, former candidate for the Plateau North senatorial district under the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), has launched an ambitious football initiative. Titled “Back to the Roots,” the project aims to support local football clubs in rural communities across Plateau State.

Today marked the kickoff of the project’s first phase, “Meeting the Teams ‘A Gida Gida Su’,” with visits to Barkin Ladi and Bokkos LGAs.

During the visits, Hon. Kwande distributed football training equipment, including balls, training cones, and training bibs, to 10 local teams.

“It was truly a memorable experience,” Hon. Kwande remarked. “We are committed to uplifting grassroots football and fostering talent in rural areas.”

The “Back to the Roots” project will continue its tour across the state, providing much-needed support to local football clubs and nurturing the next generation of footballers in Plateau State.
